Toh-Plue | A Pause Among Greenery and Music
A colourful restaurant, bar and café in Section 27, with leafy open-air seating and air-conditioned rooms.
In the Middle of a Day at Chatuchak
Chatuchak Weekend Market has a way of keeping you moving. One lane leads to another, and every turn brings a new shop, object or detail worth stopping for.
After walking through the heat, however, taking time to sit down can make the rest of the day far more enjoyable.
Located in Section 27, Toh-Plue is a restaurant, bar and café where visitors can pause for a drink or meal without stepping away from the atmosphere of the market.
A Colourful Space Surrounded by Greenery
From the market lane, Toh-Plue is easy to notice by its large red sign and the greenery surrounding its entrance.
Inside, plants cover the ceiling above a colourful bar. Records line one wall, while patterned tablecloths, bright chairs and warm lighting give each part of the restaurant its own character.
The space feels relaxed rather than formal. Even while seated, you can still see people moving through the market and feel connected to the pace of Chatuchak.
Music Outdoors, Air-Conditioned Comfort Inside
During our visit, live music was being performed beside the open seating area.
The sound of the performance blended with conversations at the tables and the movement of shoppers outside. Instead of feeling separate from the market, the break became part of the market experience itself. Live performances and schedules may vary.
Alongside its outdoor and semi-open seating, Toh-Plue also has air-conditioned rooms. Visitors can choose a table closer to the market and music, or move indoors when they need a cooler place to recharge.
Seating availability and arrangements may change, so ask the staff when you arrive if the smoking environment is important to you.
Food, Drinks and a Warm Welcome
The menu includes Thai dishes, coffee, cold drinks and beer, making Toh-Plue suitable for both a quick refreshment and a longer meal.
You can sit at a table, take a proper break and enjoy the decoration and atmosphere before returning to the market lanes.
When we visited, the staff asked where we had travelled from and served our food with a small Japanese flag.
This may not be a fixed service for every visit, but it was a thoughtful detail that reflected the international character of Chatuchak. The staff were warm and attentive, helping the restaurant feel approachable even for first-time visitors.
Pair Toh-Plue with Soi YIPUN
After exploring Japanese craft and design at Soi YIPUN, continue through the market to Toh-Plue in Section 27.
Sit down with a cold drink or a meal, enjoy the greenery and music, and give yourself time to recharge before setting out again.
Because the restaurant remains connected to the market around it, a break here does not feel like leaving Chatuchak. It simply becomes another part of the day.
