Soi YIPUN Begins Welcoming Japanese Makers and Creative Brands

Soi YIPUN has begun welcoming enquiries from Japanese makers and creative brands ahead of its planned opening in October 2026.

Soi YIPUN is moving from an idea shared through plans and stories into a new stage: beginning conversations with the makers, brands, and regional projects whose work may eventually fill the space.

Ahead of its planned opening in October 2026, the project has begun welcoming exhibitor enquiries from Japanese companies, regional manufacturers, craft businesses, small brands, independent makers, and individual creators.

Soi YIPUN is also open to discussions with municipalities, business organisations, and industry-support institutions interested in developing joint displays, regional showcases, or overseas market-testing programmes.

A place to test before expanding

For many makers and small businesses, interest in overseas sales begins with practical uncertainty.

How should the products be shipped? How should their value be explained in another language? Will the price feel appropriate? Which designs will attract attention, and what questions will customers ask?

Soi YIPUN is not intended to be a shelf where products are simply placed and left to sell.

It is being developed as a small, continuous testing ground where products can meet real visitors. By observing what people notice, touch, ask about, and purchase, makers can gain information that may help them reconsider pricing, presentation, packaging, product descriptions, and future market opportunities.

The first step does not need to be a major overseas expansion.

It can begin with a small number of products, presented in a real market, followed by careful observation and learning.

Different makers, different first steps

There is no single reason to explore an overseas market.

An independent creator may want to see how people from outside Japan respond to their work.

A small brand may want to test whether its design, material, or price makes sense in Bangkok.

A regional organisation may be looking for a practical way to introduce several local businesses together and gather feedback that can inform a longer-term support programme.

Soi YIPUN welcomes enquiries at an early stage. A maker does not need to arrive with every detail already decided.

Questions such as whether a product is suitable, what is required for shipping and sale, and how it might be presented in the market can be discussed and organised step by step.

From an empty unit to a place of encounter

The future Soi YIPUN space is located in Section 16 of Chatuchak Weekend Market, along Soi 23/4–5.

At present, the project is still preparing a simple shop unit with white walls and a wood-toned floor.

The plan is to introduce modular shelves, display tables, a counter, and visual elements that encourage visitors to pause and move through the space. These fixtures will create small areas where ceramics, textiles, paper goods, accessories, lifestyle objects, and other work from Japan can be introduced.

The layout and presentation will continue to develop through conversations with exhibitors and the progress of construction.

Official announcement on PR TIMES

On August 4, 2026, PLANK Inc. published a press release on PR TIMES announcing the planned opening of Soi YIPUN and the beginning of exhibitor enquiries.

The release explains the thinking behind the project, its role as a practical overseas sales-testing base, the kinds of makers and organisations it hopes to work with, and the support planned for display, sales, inventory checks, and feedback from the market.

The conversations begin here

Soi YIPUN aims to become more than a place where finished products are displayed.

It is intended as a place where makers can learn what happens when their work enters a different market and meets people from Thailand and around the world.

A fully developed overseas plan is not required to begin a conversation.

The process can start with a product, a question, or a desire to understand what the next step might be.

From Japan to Bangkok, a new encounter begins when an object catches someone’s eye, invites them to pause, and opens a conversation.

Soi YIPUN is now preparing to create that first point of contact.
